Job Purpose
The Associate will be a critical team member supporting Patavi's mission to transform mid-sized businesses through expert financial advisory services. In this role, you will work closely with Consulting Partners and other Associates to develop customized financial strategies for mid-sized businesses across diverse industries.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to gain comprehensive experience in commercial lending, financial restructuring, and M&A strategy while contributing to the success of our clients and the firm.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with business clients to understand their business models and financial needs.
- Act as the key point of contact for a portfolio of mid-sized business clients.
- Provide tailored financial solutions that align with client business objectives.
- Identify opportunities to deepen client relationships and cross-sell additional services.
Financial Analysis and Credit Structuring
- Conduct comprehensive industry analysis, business model analysis and financial analysis.
- Build financial models, restructuring models, cash flow forecasts and debt covenant structures.
- Assess credit risk and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
- Assist in structuring business loans for working capital, asset acquisition, and business expansion.
- Prepare detailed credit proposals and deal structures aligned with client needs and market conditions.
M&A Advisory and Strategic Contribution
- Support M&A advisory processes, including:
- Preparing detailed financial forecasts and valuation models
- Preparing deal documents (Teasers, CIMs, Valuation Reports)
- Conducting due diligence and financial analysis
- Assist in identifying and approaching potential investors and strategic partners.
- Contribute to the successful closing of transactions by managing deal execution and communication with all stakeholders.
Business Development and Market Insights
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance Patavi's market positioning.
- Develop customized financial solutions tailored to client needs and market conditions.
- Engage with Patavi's network of North American banks, credit unions, private credit funds, and private equity firms.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- CFA, CPA, or MBA is a strong plus.
- Recent finance / MBA graduates with some prior work / internship experience will be considered.
Skills and Competencies
- Willingness and ability to take responsibility in ensuring accuracy, relationship management and timely execution.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities.
- Understanding of commercial lending principles and credit risk analysis.
- Proficiency in financial statement analysis and business valuation.
- Advanced Excel skills.
